The Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100 is a perfect traffic-free ride for a range of cycling abilities!
Born out of the cycling legacy of the 2012 Olympics, this epic cycling challenge is not to be missed.
Don’t take our word for it
Duchenne Dad, Lex Ellison talks about his experience when he took part in the Ride London 100,
‘It’s a really unique event suitable for all riders. Although the 100 miles seems like a phenomenal distance, with so many thousands of riders and so many stops (snack and support stops available) it really is an amazing experience.
To be able to ride through London with no traffic in a completely secure environment, part of the fun is zipping through red lights and going the wrong way round roundabouts!
Of course it has it’s ups and downs (quite literally as there are some serious hills on the route) the sense of camaraderie and the people you meet along the way will keep you going. You get to 50/60 miles and become unsure how much you have left ‘in the tank’ but then you turn back into London to the support from the chants of the public (as the roads are closed, there’s loads of people out on the streets, screaming, banging drums, it’s like the Marathon!) this stimulates your energy levels ready for the last push.
Cycling down The Mall towards Buckingham Palace is an experience you’re not going to get very often! You can take all day, it’s not a race, I’d recommend it to anyone to get involved, especially for such an amazing charity”.
