We are proud to share Matt’s story as he raises money for Action Duchenne throughout September with our very own Angela Stringer’s son Jonathan in his heart.
The challenge
From the 1st – 30th September AVR London are attempting to cycle 2500km to raise money for a variety of wonderful charities.
That’s the equivalent of cycling the entire length of the country there and back, from Eastbourne on the South coast to Dounreay at the top of Scotland!
Our lives have changed dramatically over the last year, and the way we work, commute and interact has changed.
Just because we can’t all be together as an office, we didn’t want to let that stop us raising money for charity.
We wanted to find something we could all do whether we were in the office or not.
And not to mention great for getting fit at the same time!
We’ll be cycling to and from the office, after work, doing weekend trails, and even cycling from London to Brighton (just once, there’s only so much our legs can take!)
Our aim is to raise at least £1500 for the wonderful charities listed on our page.

Why Action Duchenne
Until I met Jonathan, my partner’s brother, I had not heard of Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Jonathan, although restricted in many ways was so obviously a charming, clever and thoughtful man.
What struck me the most though was his strength to deal with the situation he found himself in, alongside his wonderful sense of humour.
My partner Amy and her family have such beautiful memories of Jonathan but he passed away far too soon.
That’s why I’m raising money for Action Duchenne.
To help find a cure, end suffering, and to help support families dealing with all the stress and associated issues they go through on a daily basis.
Progress report!
191.88 km cycled so far (9th September)
Good luck, you’ve got this!
