I’m looking forward to sharing a few insights from my polar adventures, the 2012 London Paralympics and what the Muscle Help Foundation charity is doing today having repurposed some 6 months ago as a direct consequence of COVID-19; it hasn’t been easy! I’m reminded that during these testing times, one’s resilience is all about accepting the new reality, even perhaps if it’s not as good as the one we all had before. Over the years, my disability has become a passport enabling me to inform, educate and hopefully inspire others. And if you want to hear about the most expensive phone call in the world made from the South Pole, be sure you tune in to Action Duchenne’s webinar on Monday 17th August at 7pm
We are delighted to bring you motivational speaker, Polar explorer, wish-granter, thought leader and trail-blazer of inclusion and equality for people living with disabilities, the multiple award winning Michael McGrath.
Michael’s life work is embodied in The Muscle Help Foundation, a charity which delivers transformational Muscle Dream experiences for young people, children and their families in the UK who live with Muscular Dystrophy. Living with Limb Girdle muscular dystrophy himself, and as a full-time wheelchair user, Michael has broken down barriers, made the impossible possible and has led the way in the disabled community.
Michael is a highly engaging, expert keynote speaker, and he’ll be sharing his life experiences, including reaching the North AND South Pole, championing disability, setting up The Muscle Help Foundation and the impact the charity makes to the MD community.
As always, our online sessions are informal, where you are welcome to get as involved as you wish. As a hugely approachable individual, Michael will take questions from the audience, so please feel free to ask him anything!
Tickets are free, everyone is welcome, we greatly look forward to seeing you at the earlier time of 7pm.
