It is not everyday that we have a premier community football club show us their support, but on Saturday 26th March Beaconsfield Town FC (aka the RAMS) showed their support for our cause at their non-league day match against Wimborne Town FC!
Dougie Young, age 8 and living with Duchenne, was invited to be the match mascot, meet the players, have a tour of the club and even join in pre-match training.
It was so lovely to see Dougie kicking a ball around again. It’s something he’s lost a lot of confidence in over the last year as he realises he can’t quite keep up with the other children. Today it was incredibly special to see one of the Rams midfielders, Toby Little, spend time with Dougie on the pitch and doing some training with him. During the match he worked his way round the crowd, so many people commented on what joyful young man he is. I am so thankful to everyone who came to the match and to Beaconsfield Town FC for their support and raising over £500.

The day was also successful off the pitch with numerous donations to Action Duchenne being made. We ask that you continue to support this wonderful cause.
