Many children and young people living with Duchenne struggle with how their body looks. Steroids can cause weight gain, they might be shorter than their peers or feel that their bodies look and work differently to others.
Andrea Weldon has over a decade of experience specialising in eating disorders, body image, and self-esteem issues.
I am deeply passionate about helping people build their self-esteem and develop a healthier relationship with their bodies. My journey in this field has led me to create numerous programs and presentations for both primary and secondary schools, as well as work one to one with teenagers and adults. This work has shown me that it’s never too early, or too late to build a positive relationship with your body.
